Genre: atmospheric sludge

The group was founded in 2001, by the initiative of Robin Staps and in just a few weeks of its existence, managed to rebuilt the interior of the old aluminium factory in a huge recording-accommodation complex, in which artists – loosing themselves, without reservation, in their passion – were to spend most of their lives. The Ocean do not play normal shows – a direct reception of their creations is a kind of experience. The visuals, lights and foremost music – epic, dense, orchestral – create a specific atmosphere, which makes this German band, one of the most electrifying names in the contemporary heavy music scene.
