This year’s edition of Asymmetry is over. Soon we’ll start Before Asymmetry 2016 cycle, where we’ll present interesting and stylistically varied artists. On June 12th two projects will play their shows: well-known to Firlej audience Astronautalis and Polish duo Weeping Birds.
Also, we would like to present to you a short movie which sums up Asymmetry Festival 2015.
Nice watching and enjoy your memories, see you soon!
We happily announce that polish duo Weeping Birds will support Astronautalis. The gig will take place in Firlej on June 12. Their sound is a tribute to classic gothic and pop music from the 80’s. Weeping Bird’s music is strongly inspired by: The Sisters Of Mercy, Talking Heads, Nick Cave, Bauhaus.
In the last issue of Full Moon Magazine the coverage of this year’s Asymmetry Festival was published.
Chceck it out!
Years of travel. Fascinating stories. Explosive mixture of styles, where street hip-hop merges with rock energy and pop anthems. Outstanding talent and mischievous charm. Meet Astronautalis, who will play on June 12th in Firlej club in Wroclaw.
On June 12th we begin the second edition of Before Asymmetry cycle. For the next year until the next edition of Asymmetry Festival, we will present you exceptional musicians showing different faces of musical alternative.
First of our guests is Astronautalis, who plays riveting mix of hip-hop, indie rock and folk. Charles Andrew Bothwell, the name behind the moniker, is also famous for his storytelling, blending autobiography with history and dark urban legends with exalted hymns. His last studio album, “This is Our Science” (2011), where rap vocals intertwine with rock chants, inspired gospel songs and traditional ballads.
Tickets are available via Ekobilet.pl and Ticketpro.pl, Empik shops and in Firlej club. Tickets in pre-sale cost 20 zł, 25 zł on concert day.
Due to the absence of Anal Nathrakh the hours of the concerts have changed.
The actual timetable you can find below:
18:00-19:00 Lo-Pan
19:30-20:30 Black Pyramid
21:00-22:00 Zeni Geva
22:30-23:30 King Dude
0:00 – 1:00 Matt Elliott
We are very sorry for the arised situation.
Tonight we received the message, according to which Anaal Nathrakh’s gig, planned for May 2nd 2015, will not be played. The band sent us following letter:
“STATEMENT OF ANAAL NATHRAKH (02.05.2015, 00:00)
We are saddened and extremely frustrated to announce that owing to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to play at the Asymmetry festival in Wrocław this weekend. We cannot apologise enough to the organisers, agents, and most importantly to anyone who was looking forward to seeing our show there.
People who have paid close attention over the years may be aware that we have had our share of problems with visas in the past. Without going into personal details, we have run into a new, different variety of visa problems in the last couple of days. And despite our best, frantic efforts, we are currently unable to leave the UK at all. It appears that only this weekend’s show in Poland is affected, and we have been given optimistic advice about all other currently booked shows. The bottom line is that everything else should be fine, we just can’t go anywhere right now.
Again, we are deeply sorry that this happened. We tried our best, we really did. Not only has it cost us a shitload of money, it has let a lot of people down. If there is some way we can make it up to Polish fans and everyone else affected by this in the future, we will try to make it happen.
Regretfully,
Anaal Nathrakh.”
In this situation we, as Firlej and Asymmetry Festival, have decided to promote in the nearest possible future, a show of Anaal Nathrakh, which will compensate for their cancelled gig. We have received a confirmation from the band’s management, that when a suitable date will come up, then we will announce their gig in Wrocław. Tickets dated for May 2nd and 3-day passes will be honored and anyone who will show them on the boarding gate, will enter for free. People who want to return the tickets for festival’s second day, can do this in place of purchase. We are deeply sorry that show of one of the most expected bands of this year’s edition, will not come to fruition. Accordingly, the timetable will undergo some changes, about which we will inform you in separate announcement.
IMPORTANT NOTE!!
We want to remind you that today at midnight the presale of tickets and passes for Asymmetry Festival 2015 will stop. This is a last chance to buy single tickets for 77 zł and pass for 193 zł. From tomorrow the pass won’t be available and the single tickets on boarding gates can be bought for 95 zł.
Passes and tickets can be bought via http://asymmetryfestival.pl/en/shop/
